Neo 4K: three values, and all that follows

Neo 4K is, physically, an address, a username and a password. Almost every question about devices, sharing and players answers itself from that.

The object you actually bought

Strip away the interfaces and a Neo 4K subscription is three strings: a server address, a username and a password. On an M3U order those three are folded into a single long link; on a MAG order they are replaced by a portal address bound to the MAC of one specific box. Everything else - our Android build, the Windows listing, whatever player came with your television - is software that reads those values and draws a menu around them.

That is not a technicality. It is the fact that makes the rest of this page true, and the reason a subscription cannot be broken by anything that happens to an app.

Why losing an app costs you nothing

Devices get reset. Apps get removed from stores, or stop updating, or a television takes a firmware update that breaks something. None of it reaches your line, because your line is on our panel with an expiry date attached and no record of what has been reading it.

So the recovery from any of those is the same short procedure: find another player that speaks Xtream, enter the three values, carry on. The only real cost is remembering the values, which is why they belong in a password manager rather than in a photograph of a screen or a message thread you will be scrolling in eight months.

Why sharing them is different from lending a disc

Because what you would be lending is not a copy of something - it is simultaneous access to a counter. The slot ceiling is applied at the server against the line, not against a device, so an extra household using your values is competing with you for the same slots at exactly the hours you both want them.

The diagnostic signature is the giveaway. Faults inside your own home follow your own patterns; this one does not follow anything you can see. If playback refuses to begin at times that make no sense, consider who else holds the values before you consider the router. It is also, plainly, a breach of the terms, and the connection log is what it would be judged on.

Moving house, moving television, moving country

None of the three requires anything from us on an Xtream or M3U line. The values are not tied to an address, a network or a device, so a new television is a two-minute typing job and a move abroad is nothing at all. The pack does not follow you, though - an Arabic pack is an Arabic pack in any country, because the pack is what was bought rather than a guess at where you are sitting.

MAG is where this stops being free. There the hardware is the credential, so replacing the box means sending us the MAC off the new one before it will do anything at all. If you expect to change boxes, that alone is a reason to take the line as Xtream instead, and [the setup pages](/setup) cover both routes.

Common questions

The app has stopped opening. Have I lost the subscription?

No, and the fix is usually shorter than the message asking about it. Your subscription is three values held on our panel; the app is a piece of software on your device that reads them. Install a different Xtream-capable player, type the same three values in, and you are watching again. Nothing about the line knows or cares which app was used last.

What does sharing the login actually do to me?

It hands your connection slots to somebody who can use them from anywhere. The symptom is deeply confusing from inside your own house: playback refuses to start at times that correlate with nothing you are doing, on devices that worked an hour ago. It is worth ruling out before any technical explanation, because it is also the only cause on the list that a router reboot will never touch.

Do I need to release a device before using the line somewhere else?

No - there is no per-device registration on an Xtream or M3U line, nothing to deactivate and no message to send. Type the values into the new screen and it works. MAG is the single exception, and it is a real one: there the box MAC address is itself the credential, so a replacement box needs its new MAC sent to us before it will authenticate against anything.

Getting the hardware ready

Hardware named above that is not yet carrying a Neo 4K line? Each page below takes one machine from its first menu to a channel playing, and none of them assumes you have read this article.

Not solved yet?

Quote the NEOA- number from your order, name the screen it failed on, and the reply comes from somebody who can open that line on the Neo panel. Worth trying first: where every channel is listed and none of them will start, move the line onto a mirror address - an edit made on your own device, not here.
